But for a couple months now, whenever I want to play Civ V, I have to use DirectX 9 because DirectX 10/11 will crash instantly. It doesn't even make it to the title, just a black screen and then crash. This isn't a huge problem, as the game is still playable. The only difference I've noticed between So, for a couple of months, I've been having constant freezes and other flaws with my ASUS laptop. Auto-repair and system restore has fixed this. A couple of days ago, it started freezing after recovering from sleep mode, and today I had to force shut it off. I restarted, and it recommended me to launch auto-repair, which I did. After "loading" auto-repair (some command promt thingy) it just turned black, after 5 minutes of blackness I got a new black screen with a moveable cursor. When I first got my laptop, I got it specifically to play games. I was playing games like Assassins Creed 3 and Far Cry 3 on High Detail. Now games like KOTOR crash, Medieval Total War bugs out, and Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, and Civ 5 refuse to even start. Surely I don't keep choosing to buy all the broken games, and have verified multiple game caches. Is something wrong with my computer? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
